My name is Giedymin Kapuściński.

I am 42 years old. I’m from Poland.
I graduated from West Pomeranian University of Technology as Master if Science and from  Maritime University of Szczecin as  Mechanics Engineer. 

I have always been keen on outdoor activities and sports like
camping, fishing, sailing, kayaking, hiking, archery etc. Since my childhood knives have always been a companion of my adventures.
I have always been considering knives as something more than tools or weapons, I wanted to create a unique item that would be special for me, and the best way to create it and being really unique was to make it myself. Only with an angle grinder and other simple hand tools I made my first knife about 20 years ago.

After university graduation I started working offshore as Marine
Mammal Observer, it shows my two passions: sea and nature. However the creative side of me was not fulfilled so I decided - having time in between the projects at sea - to start making my own knives.
It was about 17 years ago.

I started from the scrap metal with zero knowledge, a very limited work space and few tools. It was a passion for me and a hobby that turned to be almost a full time job now.
I usually make big knives, campers, choppers, Bowie knives, short
swords but I do not limit myself to one type, or few models. I love them all. I constantly experiment with different shapes, materials and styles.

I want all my blades to be unique and I hardly repeat the same
design. I try to combine the rough and dangerous knives nature with
smooth lines and stylish finish pleasant for the eye.
However the rugged and simple designs also speak to me.
I use high quality materials, but I prefer the tough and durable ones over pretty. I like using simple carbon and spring steels for big and strong blades. Tough woods or synthetics like G10 for handles.
My main goal is to make high quality, unique knives that are not only
functional and practical but also a piece of art.
